The UK is now starting to realise what 10 million people worldwide already know, that Nordic Walking is a fantastic health and fitness activity which can be enjoyed by almost anyone. Nordic Walking uses specially designed lightweight poles to enhance the natural walking rhythm. The 10 step instruction program takes you through a progressive learning curve and leads, with practice, to a powerful and dynamic walking style which has been proven to utilize almost 90% of the body's skeletal muscle. As well as improvements to cardiovascular fitness, Nordic Walking also improves posture by building core stability, lessens the impact on joints compared to normal walking and is also proven to be an effective aid for weight loss. Energy expenditure is increased by 20 to 40% when compared to walking without poles. More importantly, it's great fun too. Nordic Walking can be enjoyed at almost any age and by people of any fitness level. Our instruction is given only by INWA 'International Nordic Walking Association' certified instructors and so can be relied upon to be of the highest standard. We offer a variety of itineraries including 1 hour Taster sessions, One to One tuition and Guided Nordic walks.
