This enchanting valley which drains the very highest peaks of Spain has to be one of our favourite areas. We unashamedly spend a full week in this compact area which has some of the most picturesque villages in Andalucia.

Being based either in Bubion or Capileira, or a combination of the 2 for a full week allows us to intimately explore the Pueblos Blancos - the white villages and the extensive network of footpaths in the area including some of the ancient Camino Reals - the Royal Ways which served as the main arteries between the villages before the arrival of roads.

In spring, the views to the snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountains are a constant backdrop to the beautiful valleys and flower strewn meadows of this verdant valley.

This week can be just what you want it to be, whether you want to walk the local trails every day, make use of local public transport to explore further afield or even take the bus to the vibrant city of Granada to visit the Alhambra, the choice is yours.
