Arguably the single most important weapon in your arsenal of mountain skills, the 'Dark Art' of navigation needn't be any such thing. We will aim to teach you all the necessary techniques to allow you to confidently progress with your navigation skills. The mastery of these fundamental skills will, more than anything else, give you the 'Freedom of the Hills'.

Starting with the basics, we'll take you through a logical progression of steps at a pace that suits you. If you want to be tested, we'll happily oblige. If you're happy to simply learn the techniques and test yourself in your own good time, that's just fine. There will be no pressure whatsoever to demonstrate your newly acquired skills.

We can provide Navigation courses lasting either 1 or 2 days. The 2 day course allows us to revisit all the topics covered which in our experience is necessary to reinforce the techniques learned.

These navigation courses are available in the Lake District, North Wales, Yorkshire Dales, Peak District and the West Pennine moors.
