Classic mountain walks

Guided walking on some of Britain's finest routes

Tryfan, North Wales

Tarn Hows, Lake District

What the UK lacks in size compared to the Alps or the greater ranges, we certainly more than make up for in quality. Our very own mountain heritage provides excursions of the highest quality with superlative landscapes and a variety of scenery which is hard to beat.

The Poets county, the impossibly beautiful Lake District has some of our very favourite walks. The perfectly formed Langdale Pikes, Helvelyn with it's legendary 'Striding Edge', the classic horseshoes of Fairfield, Coledale, and Kentmere to name but a few.

North Wales competes splendidly with the Snowdonia National Park offering such classics as the incomparable Snowdon horseshoe with the exciting ridge of Crib Goch, the jagged rocky peaks of Tryfan and the Glyderau and the sweeping wilderness of the Carneddau.

The aficionados of the Yorkshire Dales will tell you there is no finer place on earth. The stunning limestone scenery and verdant pastures strike a perfect balance and provide some beautiful walks.

The Dark Peak in Derbyshire can be as sombre as it sounds with the upland plateaus of Kinder Scout and Bleaklow displaying a landscape of gritstone and peat including the unique and navigationally challenging peat groughs.
